The fee for one student in a 60-minute group lesson is $25.00 (including HST) per lesson. Private one-on-one lessons and tutoring (lessons at a student’s home) are possible but time is very limited. Please contact us for details.

There is no enrollment or registration fee at Tanoshii Japanese School. The textbooks used are the Marugoto Starter A1 Rikai and Katsudo books published by the Japan Foundation. You can purchase them yourself online through Japanese sellers or from us at a cost of $51 for the set of 2.

Please note that if you cannot make a lesson but notify us at least 24 hours before the lesson starts, then the payment for that lesson can be credited for a future lesson. If not so notified, the normal fee will apply to the missed lesson.

There are 4 features of this Japanese class in Oakville.

First, compared to other Japanese schools, the cost of Japanese lessons is reasonable. Usually the quality of inexpensive Japanese classes is not good, but this Japanese class in Oakville is much different.

Second, the instructor of Tanoshii Japanese School's Japanese class in Oakville is a native Japanese speaker and certified Japanese teacher. Her name is Kaori Strong.

In 1991 Kaori passed the Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test held in Tokyo and authorized by the Japanese Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. She then taught Japanese to many foreign students at Tokyo Language School in Japan for several years. Since coming to Canada in 1998, she has taught Japanese to many students of all ages. She also taught business Japanese for Berlitz.

Kaori teaches Japanese using a number of techniques which make learning easy and fun. Over the years, she has developed and used many kinds of teaching materials including audiovisual materials. That is also one of the main features of this Japanese class in Oakville.

The third feature is that the size of each class is small. Other Japanese schools put many students in one class, but that is not the ideal way to learn Japanese. Since there are not many students in this Japanese class in Oakville, the teacher can focus on each student and meet their individual needs. As well, each student has enough time and opportunity to think and answer questions. If you want to gain fluency and accuracy, you need to have many chances to communicate in Japanese. For this reason a small Japanese class is ideal.

The last feature of this Japanese class in Oakville is that the class is enjoyable. By making the lessons fun and interesting, the teacher is able to motivate and increase the interest of the students. That is why the name of our school is Tanoshii Japanese School. Tanoshii means 'fun' or 'enjoyable' in Japanese. Students can more easily master Japanese with interesting lessons and good motivation.
