Features of Tanoshii Japanese School
Tanoshii Japanese School is different from any other Japanese school. We teach Japanese in a fun and effective way. If classes are not interesting, then it is hard to focus, retain what is taught and stay motivated. For this reason, we focus on using interesting and fun materials and techniques.
Classes at Tanoshii Japanese School are small. With a small number of students in each class, each student has plenty time to think and speak in Japanese. As well, it is easier for teachers to be able to focus on each student and respond to their individual needs.
All teachers at Tanoshii Japanese School are native Japanese speakers and well trained as Japanese teachers. They all teach Japanese in the fun and effective way developed at our School.
At Tanoshii Japanese School teachers use the direct method of teaching. Only Japanese is spoken or written. Students learn very quickly to ‘think’ in Japanese. Some schools prefer the indirect method where Japanese vocabulary and grammar is explained in English in class and English/Japanese teaching materials are used. Our materials do not use English and we use many visual support materials such as DVDs and streaming videos from YouTube Japan. That helps students to think and understand Japanese without the help of English in a fun way.
Another feature of Tanoshii Japanese School is the way we put classes together. Students who have some chance to use Japanese at their home, for example with a parent or other relative, are not put in classes with students who do not any chance to use Japanese at home. That helps ensure that students in a class progress at similar rates and do not get discouraged or bored.
For classes with students who can use Japanese at home, we use textbooks which are authorized by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Our goal is help those students achieve the same level of Japanese ability as Japanese grade 6 students. For those students who cannot use Japanese at home, we use materials specially developed to help them progress quickly. Other Japanese schools are located in Toronto, but Tanoshii Japanese School’s classes are in Mississauga and Oakville so they are more convenient to students living in the western GTA.
The cost of classes at Tanoshii Japanese School are competitive with other Japanese schools in the Toronto area. Classes at Mississauga Central Library and in Oakville are less expensive than classes at other Japanese Schools. As a result, at Tanoshii Japanese School, students get high quality classes at a reasonable price.
There is a summer course at Tanoshii Japanese School and special courses for students who wish to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test or take an intensive course to prepare for a business trip, so please contact us .
